The Stewards requested a report from Edward Lynam, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Balmont Blast, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer's representative reported that his charge disappointed on his last start on heavy ground in Listowel. He added that the return to his favoured all weather surface helped the horse return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
